Counsel and Manager
Mary, a North Carolina native, has called various parts of the Tarheel state her home. She earned her undergraduate degree from Elon College, attended a masters program at Appalachian State University and got her law degree from UNC Chapel Hill School of Law – GO HEELS! After a decade of experience conducting real estate closings in Greensboro and Raleigh, Mary made a successful transition into the title insurance industry in 2007. Once her three children flew the coop, Mary and her husband moved to the coast where Mary opened the Wilmington office of Morehead Title Company. Mary currently serves on the Board of Directors for Cape Fear CREW and is on the Executive Committee for NCLTA. Her husband is a dedicated PA at Novant Urology. When Mary’s not working, you can find her enjoying the water, whether it’s out on the boat or relaxing on the beach. She’s also an enthusiastic traveler, always seeking her next adventure!
Residential Underwriter
As a Raleigh native, Kara has recently relocated to Wilmington, North Carolina. She has been in the real estate market holding positions in general brokerage and with home builders for over 7 years. Kara is looking forward to exploring a new city , working as an Underwriter with Morehead Title, and expanding her knowledge in the Wilmington market. She is the youngest of four girls and has four very active nephews who have voted her Aunt of the Year for the past 14 years. Kara is also mom to a twelve-year-old poodle, Bailey, who prides herself on thinking she is the biggest pup on the block, finding sidewalk snacks on daily walks and protecting the house while she side eyes everyone. Kara is also a diehard NC State fan as we all bleed red, though she will have to win over her new coworkers as they do not Back the Pack…for now!
Marketing and Underwriter
Michelle Taylor joined the Morehead Title Company Wilmington Office as our marketing representative and commercial/residential underwriter. Michelle has 23 years of residential and commercial underwriting experience, as well as a lifetime of marketing experience. Not only is she knowledgeable about all things underwriting, but she also excels in networking and relationships. Michelle has never met stranger and being a native of North Carolina her Southern Charm radiates into her professional life when interacting with old and new friends in the Title Industry. She calls Fayetteville, NC her home along with her husband and growing family. In her spare time, you can find Michelle at the beach or browsing a local Home Goods looking for her next bargain. Michelle is an avid beach lover and enjoys spending time on the water. When her toes are not in the sand, she is enjoying attending NC State Football games with her husband who is a lifelong NC State fan!
